who we are

a design group for international quality – a team to create special appearances

up designers berlin-wien are an association of graphic designers working together on projects as a creative team if necessary, but trying to stay independent als designers.

We specialize in working with major clients from the cultural, media and publishing sectors – academies, festivals, film agencies, museums, publishing houses and newspapers. We shift your appearance to the top of the list – covering every need of your appearance stretching from branding and creative direction to the production of programs, catalogues, posters, flyers and your presentation in the web.

Some of our clients: Axel Springer SE, Berliner Festspiele, Diagonale – Festival of Austrian Film, Frankfurter Allgemeine (Sonntags-)Zeitung, Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Civil Service and Sport – Vienna, Grüne Bildungswerkstatt, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, identities – Queer Film Festival Vienna, Jazzfest Berlin, Kino unter Sternen, Musikfest Berlin, Ökotest, politico, Viennale – Vienna International Film Festival.

Over time, we have formed mixed teams with many other designers, photographers and authors in order to optimally fulfill the wishes of our customers while remaining true to ourselves and our creative passion. An advantage of the international designer cooperation is the occasional change of location between the two cultural metropolises Berlin and Vienna. The Austrian view of culture, which supports the state, contrasts very strongly with the Berlin understanding of DIY, sharpens the eye for well-established structures and often opens up new perspectives unexpectedly.

The exchange, which we also maintain with colleagues in southern Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and England, not only offers the opportunity to oversee large projects. We can also afford to take our responsibility as designers seriously. We therefore refuse to work for clients who sell harmful products or who commission advertisements for offers that call into question the responsible use of the natural and social environment.
